Remember that time I started a blog and said I was going to post weekly? Sorry about that…. It wasn’t by design that I up started a blog, made a few posts and then went ghost on everyone. I had full intentions of being a staple in each and every one of your weekly readings…but, I got busy. I know that’s an excuse that we hear all too often however, 2017 was a great year for the real estate market in the Shoals area. As a result, I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to help serve many clients with their mortgages. Also as a result, I neglected the blog….and had a terrible year in fantasy football.
Now that 2018 is here I have made some changes! I plan to be more active physically, continue my growth as a mortgage broker, and also find the time to work on personal growth. How am I going to manage all that? It does appear to be a tall order but I’ve hired some much-needed help. I use the term “hired” loosely because I was more or less TOLD I was getting a new employee in 2018…..by the new “employee”. Bold strategy, huh?
My wife, Chelsea Dorroh, has traded in her title as a Real Estate Agent and joined me at Shelton Financial Group, Inc. She knows that I have a desire to push the limits and try to be the best at everything I do. She recognized that in order for me to accomplish the goals I have set for myself, that I would need some help. Chelsea has a servants heart and always puts others ahead of herself. Naturally, she offered to give up her business to help me grow and pursue mine.
We have been asked numerous times “what’s it going to be like with you two working together?” and the only answer I have at this point is… I don’t know, we’ll see. We’re both entering uncharted territory as it is certainly not the norm to share a work space with your spouse. I know that it will likely make for some entertaining stories but more than anything I know that it will be a great asset for all our clients.
All that being said, stay tuned for updates. The goal for the blog is to have at least one entry a week, the content will continue as originally intended “mortgages, marriage, money, and more”.
